Users searching for the latest iPhones can visit a website that maps out the availability of the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus across all storage configurations, colors and carriers Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint, as well as unlocked versions. The site, iStockNow, provides real-time updates on iPhone 6s and 6s Plus availability.
This year's iPhone launch has proven to be one of the best ever for Apple, with the release of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus breaking sales records for the company. Although no radical improvements have been made when compared with the duo's predecessors, features like 3D Touch and an improved camera have induced consumers to make the plunge and upgrade to the latest and greatest iPhones.
The cache of owning the newest iPhone is also at play as always, and the introduction of the rose gold color, which announces that one's device is most definitely the "6s" version of either Apple's traditional smartphone or phablet, has inspired many an iPhone fan to go for the gold just to prove they have the latest model.
As we've reported recently, Apple stock in devices in the rose gold color is severely constrained, as is availability of most iPhone 6s Plus models, with wait times of up to one month expected. Now, consumers searching for their latest iPhone can track availability across the entire U.S., thanks to the iStockNow website.
The site provides a map of the entire country, showing Apple Store availability of both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus across all storage configurations (16 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB), colors (space gray, silver, gold, rose gold) and carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile/unlocked and Sprint). Green indicates a location has the desired iPhone in stock, while red means it is not in stock.
Interestingly, the map is currently showing much greater availability among East Coast Apple Store locations for almost all color and storage configurations, with the usual culprits, rose gold and the iPhone 6s Plus phablet, showing the least availability everywhere.
Note that the iStockNow website shows stock and availability specifically for Apple Store locations and not carrier availability at either carrier websites or retail stores, which may differ. We recently offered a roundup of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus availability and wait times when purchased directly through the carriers, and suggest you visit the website of your carrier of choice to check what they currently have in stock.
