It appeared as if the much-hyped Galaxy F / S5 Prime was the just announced Galaxy S5 LTE-A. The Galaxy F/S5 Prime is still alive and kicking and has just shown up in "Glowing Gold."
When Samsung recently introduced the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, the smartphone appeared to be the highly anticipated Galaxy F / S5 Prime. The handset's spec sheet matched most of what has been reported in Samsung's "premium" Galaxy S5. The smartphone had the much talked about 2560 x 1440 QHD display and Qualcomm's new and extremely powerful Snapdragon 805 processor.
Samsung's upgraded Galaxy S5 LTE-A didn't go over well with current Galaxy S5 owners and Samsung tried to soften the blow by restricting the QHD smartphone to South Korea. It seemed like the S5 LTE-A killed off any hope of the Galaxy F /S5 Prime seeing the light of day.
If you were one of those smartphone owners who was very interested in the prospects of the Galaxy F / S5 Prime, you'll be happy to know that a very reliable source has shown the "premium" smartphone is very much alive.
Evleaks posted an image of the Galaxy F / S5 Prime prior to the Galaxy S5 LTE-A launch, which showed the smartphone in a "perfect golden" color option. The tipster is back with another shot of the Galaxy F / S5 Prime in a new "glowing gold" color option. He notes that this smartphone is not the S5 LTE-A and the gold color is a different shade than the "perfect golden" previously reported.
The Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime is expected to feature a 5.2-inch to 5.3-inch 2560 x 1440 QHD Super AMOLED display. The smartphone will reportedly ditch Samsung's plastic rear case for a brushed metal design to make the handset feel high-end. It will rock the same quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3 GB of RAM found in the just-announced Galaxy S5 LTE-A.
The Galaxy F / S5 Prime is expected to pack in a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), the ability to record 4K video and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chat. The Galaxy F / S5 Prime is expected to launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 at IFA in Berlin in September.
