The Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime has been spotted in the wild once again. A new image shows the slightly larger and thin bezel smartphone next to the Galaxy S5.
With each passing day, we're beginning to find out more and more details about Samsung's upcoming premium Galaxy F / S5 Prime. The smartphone has quickly turned into one of the most talked about unannounced handsets.
We've already seen the Galaxy F pass through the FCC for certification and reported on leaked images of the smartphone. The handset was originally expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S5 in February, but for some reason Samsung chose not to unveil the device.
A new report from PhoneArena shows what is reportedly the Galaxy F / S5 Prime and the image shows the smartphone next to Samsung's current flagship Galaxy S5. As seen in the image, the Galaxy F has a slightly larger display than the Galaxy S5's 5.1-inch display and latest reports have suggested it has a 5.2-inch or 5.3-inch screen. Also notice that the smartphone has noticeably thinner bezels around its display when compared with the Galaxy S5.
The thin bezel display of the Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime's display is very reminiscent to the display found on LG's G3 smartphone. Just like the G3, the Galaxy F will feature a high-resolution 2560 x 1440 QHD display.
While the Galaxy F and Galaxy S5 have a very similar design, the Galaxy F ditches the S5's plastic build for a more premium metal case. The Galaxy F / S5 Prime also is expected to have more powerful internals than the current Galaxy S5. The smartphone will reportedly feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3 GB of RAM, compared to the Galaxy S5's quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone will also follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy S5 by being IP67 certified waterproof and dust-resistant.
The Galaxy F is also expected to include a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and a heart rate sensor right below the camera. The latest reports suggest that Samsung plans on launching the Galaxy F in September alongside the introduction of the Galaxy Note 4.
