Samsung is watching its unannounced Galaxy F / S5 Prime make headlines on an almost daily basis. The latest leak shows the smartphone is going to be offered in a gold-brushed aluminum option.
There have been rumors for years that have claimed Samsung would ditch its love of cheap-feeling plastic and adopt metal in its place to give its smartphones the same premium feeling Apple and HTC both offer. Leading up to Mobile World Congress in February, many reports claimed Samsung was going to launch two versions of the Galaxy S5, much in the same way Apple is preparing two iPhone 6 models; a 4.7-inch smartphone and 5.5-inch phablet. At the event, Samsung ultimately ended up only announcing one Galaxy S5 and it wasn't the rumored Galaxy F / S5 Prime many were hoping for.
In the beginning of March we reported that all hope wasn't lost for Samsung smartphone fans that were still holding out hope for a high-end Galaxy S5 Prime. The first image of the Galaxy F / S5 Prime leaked in May and showed off its bright and beautiful 2560 x 1440 QHD display. The always-reliable evleaks posted the first image showing off its brushed aluminum case for the first time and has just posted a new color option.
Evleaks posted an image and message on his site showing the Galaxy F / S5 Prime in a "perfect golden" color option. The image matches his previously leaked image, showing the smartphone's 2560 x 1440 QHD display and its rear aluminum case, this time in gold.
Samsung is expected to use a 5.2 - 5.3-inch 2560 x 1440 QHD Super AMOLED display in the Galaxy F / S5 Prime. It's expected to be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3 GB of RAM to provide a snappy user experience. The smartphone is expected to ship with a high-end 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), LED flash, record 4K video and 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chat and selfiies. It will also use the same fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S tablets and also be IP67 certified waterproof and dust resistant.
The most recent reports claim that Samsung is planning to officially unveil the Galaxy F / S5 Prime at IFA in Berlin in September alongside the Galaxy Note 4.
