Is there anything better than controlling a rocket-powered car as you cruise around a huge arena trying to score a goal? Not really, except for maybe a few ways to make your ride look even more awesome.
I'm talking about Rocket League, of course, the runaway indie game hit that has sold more than 1 million units on Steam. Rocket League developer Psyonix has announced some new downloadable content for the game that may just create even more fans of the game.
The Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC pack will feature the return of a couple of vehicles from Rocket League's predecessor, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. These include the beetle-like Scarab and the lean, mean racing machine Zippy.
This new DLC pack will also include plenty of ways to trick out the vehicles already featured in the game with 12 new decals (six for each new car), three new paint types (Toon Glossy, Toon Matte and Toon Wood), two new wheels (Scarab and Zippy), two new rocket boosts (Accelerato and Battle-Stars), four new toppers (Cavalier, Locomotive, Pixelated Shades and Shark Fin) and two new antennas (Retro Balls from the original game). The new DLC pack will also feature new trophies for the game on PlayStation 4 and new achievements for it on Steam.
Whether or not you decide to purchase this new DLC pack, every Rocket League player will get some new content courtesy of a free update coming to the game in a simultaneous release. This includes variations on the existing Rocket League arenas Urban Station (Night) and Utopia Coliseum (Dusk) and new Country and Community Flags.
The Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC pack will retail for $3.99 and is scheduled to be released in October.
