Star Wars: Battlefront beta creates is making quite a buzz, especially for eager gamers.
Publishers Electronic Arts (EA) Games and DICE reveal they are planning to offer the Star Wars: Battlefront beta to all gamers who wish to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Interestingly, the developers confirm the beta are having multiplayer and offline modes.
Star Wars: Battlefront community manager Mathew Everett revealed in his blog post that the beta will have both online and offline modes. It will also include co-op and split-screen co-op in a bid to cover all gamers.
Everett shared that players will be able to take part in the Walker Assault mode on Hoth, Drop Zone mode on Sullust and Survival mode on Tatooine. He also answered the most commonly asked queries. On whether the game would include any AI bots in multiplayer, Everett confirmed that the Fighter Squadron mode will come with AI units.
"The Standard Edition of Star Wars: Battlefront will include the base game," wrote Everett, answering the question on the difference between Deluxe and Standard Editions. "The Deluxe Edition will include the base game and have the Ion Grenade, Ion Torpedo, and DL-44 unlocked right away along with the exclusive Ion Shock and Victory emotes."
The developers' decision to offer the Battlefront beta in offline mode is interesting since usual beta tests are carried out to stress servers and ensure that these will manage the strain due to the simultaneous access to the game. It is actually a good move to allow fans to attest to the game's ability to support thousands of players at a time.
Star Wars: Battlefront Deluxe Edition will be sold as a physical item for Xbox One as well as PlayStation 4 only.
The preorder page of the game sets the release date for Nov. 17.
