Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Beta is showing that the studio has not lost its touch, despite being removed from working on the iconic shooter franchise for three years.
To prepare PlayStation 4 gamers for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Beta, the official PlayStation blog created a compilation of survival tips that covers all aspects of the game, with some tips provided by other gamers through Twitter. There are also other tips from other sources that could help gamers.
Gameplay basics
Gamers are advised to simplify and slow down their movements, as quick sprints will draw attention from the enemies. It would better to move quietly behind cover to remain hidden. The game also adds new combat movements such as wall running, but gamers can still find success without doing these stunts.
Gamers should also only fire their weapons at the right time, as firing weapons will draw the attention of the enemy.
For players that have not played Call of Duty for some time, it is also advised that they play on Domination mode, which would allow them to gain levels up to the max level possible in the easiest way without needing to have good kills-deaths ratios. The Team Deathmatch mode, however, is the best at allowing players to learn the maps and mechanics.
Tips sent in by other gamers include aiming grenades high and being aware of the surroundings on where both teammates and enemies are located.
Specialists
For gamers choosing a starter, the Battery is a good choice. The Kinetic Armor ability would serve as a safeguard while gamers are polishing their skills, and the War Machine is a special weapon that is powerful enough to blow away enemies even if they are hiding behind cover.
A tip sent in by a player, however, recommends the Seraph specialist, as gamers will be able to receive the ability to kill enemies using only one shot with a revolver.
The Vision Pulse of the Outrider, which is able to reveal the locations of enemies within a certain range, is also a useful ability for gamers that are more methodical players.
Create-a-Class
Gamers are advised to keep their eyes open for the valuable Unlock Tokens, which will give access to new guns, Specialist abilities, add-ons and Perks.
At the start of the game, gamers are also recommended to choose only one or two guns to pour investments in upgrades to gain key attachments such as Quickdraw for faster aiming, Long Barrel for longer range and Stock for better accuracy. Options for the guns include the Kuda SMG and the ARK-7 rifle.
Other tips include also using the Razorback, a weapon that has proved to be good for both short-range and long-range fights, and using the Sixth Sense perk to be more aware of surroundings.
