Treyarch Studios, the game developer behind the Call of Duty franchise, announced earlier this month that a multiplayer beta of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 would arrive August 19 exclusively for PlayStation 4. If you're an Xbox One or PC player, you've probably been waiting with bated breath to hear when you can get a sneak peek on your console of choice, too.
If that's the case, exhale — we have your answer. The multiplayer beta will be available August 26 through August 30 for Xbox One and PC users, Activision announced in a blog post on Wednesday. As previously mentioned, the beta will kick off on the PS4 August 19 and will be available to play until August 23.
Black Ops 3 introduces a new campaign in which the worlds of humanity and military robotics collide. The beta will let fans experience the game's new momentum-based chain movement system, try different specialists and test out the new multiplayer maps, in addition to other features in the game, according to Activision.
When Black Ops 3 is officially released on November 6, the game will also feature a new zombies experience called "Shadows of Evil," which was introduced at this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego. In this 1940s film-noir narrative, four characters will have to deal with a mysterious figure who goes by the name of Shadow Man and who just happens to also be in control of their destinies.
The Black Ops 3 beta will be available only to those who pre-order the game for the PS4, Xbox One or PC from a participating retailer or from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Store or Steam. Treyarch will be revealing more details about the beta, such as information about maps and modes, in the coming weeks.
