Fans have been eagerly awaiting word on the collector's edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. It isn't official quite yet, but leaked images (via Optic Gaming) seem to indicate fans might want to brace their wallet for impact.
This collector's edition, called the "Juggernog Edition," looks to revolve solely around the game's zombie mode. Judging from the images, the collector's edition looks to include a steelbook case, perk-a-cola coasters, concept art, the game soundtrack, in-game items, the game's season pass and last but certainly not least, a fully functional mini-fridge.
Yes, you get a fridge with your video game. The image indicates that the fridge features lights and audio taken from the game and can hold up to a dozen 12-oz cans.
A collector's item like that doesn't come cheap — so how much will this special edition set Call of Duty zombie super fans back?
We don't know just yet. The image showed up on the site of New Zealand retailer Mighty Ape, where it was listed for $289.99 New Zealand dollars. That converts to around $193 bucks in the United States.
Keep in mind that none of this is official yet — but there is a big Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 zombie reveal going down at San Diego Comic-Con shortly. No doubt details about the game mode and this collector's edition will be announced there.
It does seem possible that since this is a special zombie-themed collector's edition, that other special editions of the game may be announced soon as well. After all, not every Call of Duty player is a fan of the game's zombie mode. It's difficult to imagine which collector's item the team at Treyarch could possibly dream up that would top a fully working appliance, but you never know. Expect more details as we have them.
In other collector's edition news, you can pick up a sweet replica grappling hook in the Just Cause 3 Collector's Edition coming in December. If you pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for PlayStation 4, you can look forward to playing the beta on August 19. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on November 6.
