Amazon Haul Is Changing Due to Trump Tariffs—New Focus to Sell Products from US Warehouses

The sale of goods from China and other countries will slow down as Amazon wants to avoid tariffs.

There is an upcoming change to Amazon's low-cost storefront and marketplace, Amazon Haul, as the e-commerce company is planning to curb the tariffs that took into effect in the past days from President Donald J. Trump.

The Amazon Haul app was released by the renowned platform to rival the rise of famed Chinese e-commerce platforms that offer ultra-cheap products to the world.

However, that may no longer be the case for Amazon Haul as it has now dialed back on its focus on Chinese products that ship directly from the mainland as the Trump tariffs are set to levy higher rates for all imported goods, especially from China.

Amazon Haul to Change Operations Due to Trump Tariffs

Amazon has previously seen the dominance of China's e-commerce technology, which greatly evolved since most of the products sold in various platforms are from the mainland, and this is the reason Haul was born.

However, that is already changing as The Information reported that Amazon is refocusing on selling products that are readily available in their US warehouses moving forward.

This massive change cause of the tariffs that President Trump has imposed against foreign countries for products that are being imported to the US.

The main focus of Amazon Haul before is to sell products under $20 to match prices and offers made by rivals like Temu and Shein, which are known for selling significantly cheap products made by Chinese retailers or manufacturers.

Moreover, Amazon Haul's previous offers center on shipping the said products directly from their Chinese warehouses, retailers, and sellers, which are notably more affordable than the regular Amazon storefront.

Now, this massive change for Haul prompted Amazon to focus on the products that are readily available in their US warehouses, with brands like Gap, Adidas, Levi's, and more that are pricier than the ones from China.

The Massive US vs. China Issue: Trump Tariffs

The tension between the US and China has continued due to Trump's new tariffs that slap all imported goods coming into the US with tariffs.

Despite this being applied to all products, goods, components, and more, one of the biggest "losers," so to speak, is the technology industry, which is known for relying on foreign-manufactured components despite being American-designed. Not only the devices but also the different accessories like gaming gear, peripherals, and more are manufactured in other countries, especially China.

Apple is reportedly stockpiling on iPhone units over the past weeks to curb the tariffs that will soon charge them with massive rates, with analysts expecting that the company will increase its selling price to keep up with Trump's trends.

That being said, most of the current measures from tech companies are only temporary, unless they move their manufacturing, sourcing, and manpower to create their products to the US.
