The arrival of August may signal that the summer is winding down, but that doesn't mean the new titles coming to Amazon Instant Video aren't just as hot as ever.
Hearing about the new movies and TV shows being added to Amazon Instant Video in August should make you want to do cartwheels right about now. But if you're not feeling that, that's kind of understandable too. By this point in the summer, you may be binge-watched out already. You may have spent all of your money on Amazon Prime Day. You also may be too busy finally making your way through Transparent now that the Amazon original series has racked up a ton of Emmy nominations.
However, if you do decide to spend some time and money on what's new to Amazon Instant Video in August, you probably won't be disappointed. Amazon Prime members will get unlimited access to new documentaries like Misery Loves Comedy, classic rom-coms like My Best Friend's Wedding and the entire series of Curb Your Enthusiasm — and without a subscription to HBO Go or HBO Now to boot.
If you don't subscribe to Amazon Prime, you can still stream new movies and TV shows from Amazon Instant Video, but you'll have to pay. The tradeoff with that is you can access even more recently-released movies and TV shows, such as the high-octane summer blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road. The latest seasons of critically-acclaimed TV shows will also become available to stream, including The Knick, Homeland and House of Cards, giving you just enough time to catch up on these series before they return for a new season.
Check out the full list of movies and TV shows being added to Amazon Instant Video in August below, and may your summer binge-watching go out with a bang.
