The Kollector's Edition of Mortal Kombat X for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is now available on Amazon for only $99.99, representing a $50 or 33% discount to the original price of $149.99 for the title.
Developed by NetherRealm Studios, Mortal Kombat X is the latest installment in the legendary and highly-popular brutal fighting game series. The title was released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on April 14.
The title combines cinematic presentations with all-new gameplay to be able to deliver gamers with the most brutal Mortal Kombat experience to date. Also, for the first time, Mortal Kombat X provides gamers with choices on multiple variations of every character, which will impact both the fighting style and strategy of players.
Included in the Mortal Kombat X: Kollector's Edition for both consoles are a copy of the game, a figure of long-standing Mortal Kombat character Scorpion by Coarse, a certificate of authenticity, a gold skin for Scorpion and the Kombat Pack season pass.
The Kombat Pack DLC has a retail price of $29.99 and includes access to four bonus characters: Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th horror movie franchise, the Predator from the Predator franchise, Tremor from Mortal Kombat: Special Forces and Tanya from Mortal Kombat 4. The pass also includes 15 additional skins for characters and costumes.
NetherRealm Studios has also released DLC named the Klassic Fatality Pack 1 for free. Fatalities are a major component of Mortal Kombat games, serving as highly brutal finishing moves that result in everything from fiery carcasses to chopped up limbs.
The Klassic Fatality Pack 1 adds four new fatalities to Mortal Kombat X, one each for classic characters Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya and Johnny Cage. The free DLC also includes a new skin for Scorpion.
It has been reported earlier in the year that there will be two Klassic Fatality Packs. However, it is not known when the second pack will be released and which characters will be adding a classic fatality to their arsenal of finishing moves.
Mortal Kombat X also features the first gay character in the series, as a flashback scene for newcomer Kung Jin reveals his worries that other Shaolin monks will not accept him. Raiden, however, consoles Kung Jin, assuring him that the group only cares about what is in his heart and not about who his heart desires.
