Everybody by now knows Jared Leto sent a co-star on Suicide Squad a gift with a rat inside, among other things. For the first time, we get to see that rat, and it appears to be living the life.
We understand that the rat was sent to Margot Robbie, the actress who is playing Harley Quinn. No one knows outside of the cast how Robbie reacted to the gift, but it appears she didn't take it too well since she is not seen in the image below.
First, we see Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) with the little rat on his shoulders. He refers to the animal as his new roommate. He says the rat knows karate and can write haikus. This small animal also knows how to hold transformative meditation.
Another picture shows Cara Delevingne and Joel Kinnaman having a merry good time with the rat they are calling Splinter. How awesome it would be if this rat showed up in the movie at some point. Definitely a huge win for Jared Leto, and probably not so much for Margot Robbie.
As regards whether or not she's angry at being gifted a live rat, we can't say for sure. What we do know is that she is not posting images on any of her social media accounts with Splinter by her side, so that could be proof enough.
Should she make an appearance at the Warner Bros. DC panel at the San Deigo Comic-Con, we hope someone in the audience asks her about the rat because we'd love to know where her mindset is.
What do we think?
Jared Leto is a method actor, so he is likely to stay in character for the entire filming of Suicide Squad. Method actors are known to do crazy things, but that doesn't mean it is fine to send a co-star a live rat. No one knows for certain how a person would react to such a thing.
At the end of the day, though, we're just glad Leto is taking the Joker character seriously. A little too seriously, maybe? That's fine since no one was hurt in the process.
