Aquaman In 'Suicide Squad?' New Rumor Says Yes, And He's Not Alone

Jason Mamoa's Aquaman will be making an appearance in Suicide Squad, but what role might he play in the upcoming film?

Might he team up with the film's villains? Join forces with Batman? Suicide Squad is releasing after Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, so audiences will already be familiar with the King of Atlantis. What might the character be up to?

A new rumor from Heroic Hollywood may have an answer.

Major spoilers below, read on at your own risk!

According to the site, Aquaman will be a prisoner of Amanda Waller (the character who oversees the Suicide Squad). This makes sense, as earlier rumors have stated Waller keeps Aquaman's trident in her trophy case. He will supposedly be held in a containment chamber of some kind, where we will see his hand slap the glass. The site says this may be because Aquaman is being experimented and tested on.

That isn't all, however. How exactly did Aquaman, a powerful superhero, get caught by Waller in the first place? Heroic Hollywood reports he is captured after a battle with a mutated shark, a mutated shark who just so happens to also be housed within the prison facility Waller oversees.

Any DC Comics reader or Suicide Squad fan will likely know what that means: King Shark will be making an appearance. Rumors have been circulating that the character would make an appearance for a while now, and this latest bit seems to reinforce the idea. The humanoid shark-man has served on the Suicide Squad in the past and battled against Aquaman numerous times, so it all makes perfect sense. Now, we just have a better idea of what the villain will be doing. Whether King Shark and Aquaman have a major role to play in the film remains to be seen, but it is definitely cool that the two are being included.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is in theaters on March 25, 2016, followed by Suicide Squad on August 5, 2016.
