Acquiring Paul Pierce was a great offseason move for the Washington Wizards.
Not only does he provide solid veteran leadership and can still ball, but he remains one of the best trash talkers in the NBA—an attribute that's necessary for a rather young playoff team like the Wiz kids to have an edge.
After scoring 14 points in 22 minutes to help the fifth-seed Wizards secure a 125-94 win over the No. 4 Raptors and complete their four-game playoff series sweep, Pierce still had some shots to put up.
The 10-time All-Star, 2008 NBA champion and Finals MVP took to his Instagram account after the game to jab at Drake, multi-platinum rapper and brand ambassador of the Raptors.
First, Pierce posted this incredible shot of himself with the caption, "King in the North." The North being a clear reference to Toronto and the Raptors' popular slogan of "We The North."
But Pierce wasn't done rubbing in the Wizards' victory. His next post depicted Drake wearing a Pierce jersey with the quote, "If you're reading this, the Wizards just swept." The quote was a shot in reference to Drizzy's If You're Reading This, It's Too Late mixtape.
And if that wasn't enough, rapper Wale, who's a brand ambassador for the Wizards, also took shots at Drake, while gloating in Washington's sweep.
