Ever since Shaquille O'Neal joined TNT's Inside the NBA desk as an analyst in 2011, the show has produced nonstop comedy between he and Charles Barkley. Thursday night was just a reminder of how funny the basketball legends' rapport is, especially during the NBA playoffs.
When shown video of NBA Commissioner Adam Silver recently joking that Sir Charles pulls off the bald look better than Shaq, Barkley immediately responded, "He's got my vote for commissioner again."
When TNT producers put up a split-screen of O'Neal and Barkley, Sir Charles commented, "That's not even a fair fight" to which Shaq retorted, "Chocolate is in, baby" and "Once you go Shaq, you never go back." (Watch the whole clip below).
Having seen this, it got us to thinking about all the hilarious on-air moments between the Diesel and Round Mound of Rebound. While there's just too many to select from, we narrowed it down to the Top 5. Get your popcorn ready.
5. Shaq Defeats Barkley in Three-Point Contest
Shaq was a terrible free-throw shooter, so the thought of him in a three-point contest is funny in itself. The reality of him defeating Charles Barkley in a three-point contest is the kind of thing television is made for.
4. Shaq Pranks Barkley, Fools With His Chair
Sir Charles just couldn't figure out what was wrong with his chair one night on set. O'Neal's laughs gave away the fact that he had made some adjustments to the seat.
3. Barkley Reminds Shaq of Kazaam
At the height of O'Neal's explosion in the NBA, he played a genie in the ultra-corny 1996 movie Kazaam. Here, when Shaq was trying to explain some words of wisdom that Michael Jordan once gave him, Barkley interrupted and asked him if MJ's advice was that he wanted to be in Kazaam 2. HA!
2. Shaq and Barkley Wrestle
They tussled for a while before Shaq was able to use his Diesel power to overwhelm Barkley. So much for Sir Charles' MMA training. No pound, just ground for Chuck.
1. Sir Charles Sets Up Elaborate Plot to Tackle Shaq ... It Doesn't Work
In this hilarious clip, Chuck plotted against Shaquille O'Neal, stalking the four-time NBA champion backstage in an attempt to knock him down for bragging rights and just to say he did it. But when Barkley actually went for the takedown, O'Neal rather effortlessly spun him around and dropped him on a couch. All across America kids are practicing their own WWE-like moves on each other ... just like these overgrown kids did here. Real tears ... now this is absolutely hilarious.
