The new Tesla Supercharger V4 was revealed on a newly leaked blueprint. Elon Musk's EV company previously revealed the arrival of the charging stations' new design.
Tesla said that the upcoming Supercharger V4 is a part of its new station that will be constructed in Danvers, Massachusetts.
After the giant automaker confirmed this new charging station, enthusiasts claimed that the V4 model will offer a clean look that is somehow similar to the existing Tesla Superchargers.
Now, is the new Tesla Supercharger V4 the long-rumored refresh model?
Tesla Supercharger V4's Leaked Design
According to Electrek's latest report, rumors already claimed that Tesla will launch a refresh version for its advanced Tesla Supercharger station.
However, it is still unclear of the newly leaked design is for this upcoming model. The blueprint showing the new Supercharger V4 was leaked by John Harris, an IT professional.
"Tesla supercharger site plans for Danvers, MA appear to now include references to "Alternative Supercharger Posts" in addition to v3 posts," said the leaker.
He added that the blueprints seem like they are still for the existing Tesla Supercharger V3s.
However, there are some illustrations showing the new V4 model. Of course, there are some individuals who don't believe that the blueprints are for the new Supercharger V4s.
In the comment section, a Twitter user said that Alternative Piles look like the Urban 72kW Supercharger units.
He added that are shorter compared to the plans shown in the leaked blueprints.
Longer Charging Cable and Other Details
Based on the blueprints provided by Harris, the new Tesla Supercharger V4 model is integrated with a longer charging cable.
If this is true, then the new Alternative Tesla Supercharger Post will allow owners to easily charge their zero-emission vehicles since the charging cable can reach more distance.
Another change revealed by the blueprint is the lack of inner opening in the actual Supercharger post. Because of this, the longer charger cable is left in the open without any protection.
This may be an issue, especially during extreme rains, heatwaves, and other bad weather. If you want to see more details about the new Supercharger V4, you can visit this link.
Previously, the automaker announced that non-Tesla Supercharger stations will soon roll out across the U.S.
On the other hand, the Tesla Supercharger network reaches a new milestone.
