The Starlink satellite dish is now visible at a new station, indicating that Tesla is expanding the deployment of these devices at Supercharger stations, according to Electrek's report.
Starlink Internet + Supercharger Network
The Supercharger network now provides the finest charging service for electric vehicles. While other charging networks are catching up, Tesla made an early commitment to providing a complimentary charging service.
Although it is usually the intention to keep charging periods brief, it is nonetheless common for Tesla customers to spend more than 30 minutes at the charging stations, according to the source.
Charging Tesla EVs would take some time, so users or owners will have to do other activities to keep them busy while waiting for their vehicles to be fully charged. But the automaker has covered its users because it has been developing entertainment in-car apps such as the Tesla Theater, which includes YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, and several streaming services.
The company has also developed Tesla Arcade to enable its users to play various video games.
However, Tesla recently reduced the premium connectivity trial period, putting more customers under pressure to pay more or give the benefits up. But the good news for Tesla users who do not want to purchase the connectivity is that they can still use such features when their automobiles are connected to Wi-Fi.
The Supercharger Experience
The company's CEO Elon Musk has recently promised to introduce Wi-Fi connectivity at the stations to enhance the Supercharger experience.
At a Supercharger station in Lake City, Florida, the first Starlink satellite dish was seen being installed last year.
Since then, there haven't been any other instances of Tesla employing Starlink internet at its Supercharger stations, a satellite constellation-based service provided by SpaceX. However, Tesla now looks to be finally increasing the presence of Starlink internet at several Supercharger stations.
Per the source, It's unclear at this time if Tesla will use the technology to provide Wi-Fi to Tesla customers stopping to charge or if it will merely be used to support Tesla's back-end connectivity to maintain and evaluate the Supercharger station.
Non-Tesla Supercharger Project
Last Wednesday, July 6, the non-Tesla Supercharger test program was scheduled to launch in the US. Currently, only a few European nations offer the charging station made by the EV manufacturer.
The Biden-Harris Administration confirms that this will soon change since the United States is the country that will be implementing the most cutting-edge non-Tesla Supercharger project.
The launch of the non-Tesla Supercharger pilot program is expected to commence later this year.
