Niantic has revealed that another legendary Pokémon will be making its way to the popular mobile title Pokémon GO.
The gaming company took to Twitter to announce that Kyogre would finally make its way to the game. Kyogre arrives alongside the release of new third-generation Pokémon, including Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Marill, and more.
The legendary Pokémon was revealed shortly before Christmas when Niantic announced more water-type creatures would arrive to the game. Promotional artwork showed the legendary Pokémon along with Luvdisc, Relicanth, Feebas and Milotic, Wailmer, and Sharpedo.
Kyogre made its first appearance in Pokémon Sapphire back in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance. The Pokémon was the title's cover star, opposite Groudon on Pokémon Ruby.
How To Get Kyogre
Kyogre can be obtained in a Raid Boss battle on the mobile title. Players will be happy to know that they will not need an invitation to participate in Kyogre's Raid.
This means that both Kyogre and its counter Groudon will both be available to battle and catch over the weekend.
The Legendary Pokémon's Moveset
Being a water-type the legendary Pokémon can receive a boost in damage in snow and rain weather conditions. At the moment, Kyogre only has one fast move: Waterfall. It also has three charge moves, including Thunder, Blizzard, and Hydro Pump.
Kyogre is now the strongest water-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Its stats and CP are similar to that of Groudon, making it the perfect counter to the likes of the legendary Golem and much more.
Meanwhile, Pokémon GO developers revealed two tweaks to Kyogre. Revealing that it has decreased stats by 9 percent and removed the fast move Dragon Tail to prevent it from becoming even more powerful than dragon-type Pokémon.
How Long Will Kyogre Be Available?
Kyogre will remain available from now through Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day. Now would be the best time to grab the Pokémon while its counter, Groudon, is still available.
