The upcoming April update of the popular first-person shooter video game Destiny is one of the biggest updates for the game, bringing a number of changes gamers' way.
Jon Weisnewski, senior designer at Bungie (the game developer of Destiny), details the changes that are coming in the impending update for Destiny.
Base Weapon Changes
Auto Rifles - High Rate-of-Fire (RoF) damage for auto rifles will be coming down a bit, while low RoF will come up slightly.
Pulse Rifles - Low RoF damage for pulse rifles is also slated. Twin-burst headshots from the minimum rate of the rifle will be able to kill an enemy who has low armor.
Hand Cannon - The inventory for ammunition is poised to be increased. The ammunition amount in a magazine will not increase, only the amount the player will be able to carry.
Fusion Rifles - This will get a "blanket stability increase," which will enable the projectiles to have a tighter grouping. This will make the weapon more effective.
Sniper Rifles - The ones that have short zooms will get an increase to their zooms, which will make close-range engagements tougher. Shortgaze, Ambush and Long view will all have increased zooms.
Bungie's April update for Destiny also removes the sidearm exploit. The Special Weapon ammo will be lost if a player switches from the weapon.
Moreover, the update also reduces the entire inventory amount for Sniper, Shotgun and Machine Gun ammo. The PVE ammo bricks for Heavy Weapon and Special ammo will also reduce more regularly to counter the drop in inventory.
The update will remove the ability to sprint revive and revival will take more time. Moreover, reviving will mean that gamers need to be nearer to the player who has been downed in order to resuscitate them. For those wondering about the overshield strength, it will not be as strong as it was earlier.
Warlock subclasses will also undergo changes in the Destiny April update. The Flame Shield protection frequency and statistics will reduce. However, Bungie is looking to balance this with other melee alternatives. For instance, while the Fireborn time sees a decrease, the Firebolt grenades are untouched. Moreover, the Stormcallers will be required to be economical with their supers. The Landfall perk will not be blinding players anymore - and no more bubbles! Additionally, the Stormtrance Super will cease to seem like it is on forever.
Not to be left out, the Voidwalkers' Energy Drain is set to become more effective after the update.
