US Cellular Wants You To Switch, Offers $300 Credit Even For Smartphones With Cracked Displays

U.S. Cellular will offer a credit of $300 to customers who port in their number and trade in their old smartphone — even with a cracked display.

Normally, carriers offer trade in promotions but the device being traded in should be in good working conditions. Most of the carriers do not accept handsets that have cracked display. However, customers can benefit from the latest promotional offer from U.S. Cellular.

"We know that there are people who are looking to change wireless carriers, but they have broken screens that have no trade-in value, and therefore can't afford to make the switch," says Joe Settimi, VP of marketing at U.S. Cellular. "We wanted to remove that barrier for people and give them an easy way to upgrade to the high-quality U.S. Cellular network and get a better wireless value than Verizon and AT&T."

U.S. Cellular will accept smartphones with cracked display but the phone should be functional and meet other criteria laid down by the carrier.

"Turned-in Smartphone must have been active on former carrier's plan and be in fully functional, working condition without any liquid damage or broken components, including, but not limited to, a cracked housing. Devices with cracked screens will be accepted as long as the device meets all other requirements," says U.S. Cellular.

On top of the $300 credit, U.S. Cellular is also offering an unlimited buy-out of a customer's current contract after submission of the final bill. The latest promotion is of great value to customers who are unhappy with their existing carrier and want to switch or those with a smartphone with a cracked display.

Customers who port in their number and trade in their mobile phone will get $100 Promo Card instantly followed by $200 Promo Card via mail within six to eight weeks.

U.S. Cellular has a wide variety of smartphones on offer to meet individual taste and pocket. The latest Samsung Galaxy S7 is available from the carrier for $199.99 on a two-year contract and on installment of $28 per month for 24 months.

The carrier is also offering the iPhone 6s for $199 on a two-year contract. Customers can also purchase the handset on installment where they have to pay $27 per month for 24 months.

Other handsets such as the iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, LG G4 and more are also available from U.S. Cellular.
