WWE 2K15 is bringing wrestling to the next generation of consoles in October, and now we know some of the legendary superstars players will be able to choose from when the game releases.
IGN and WWE hosted a roster reveal panel on Saturday with Stone Cold Steve Austin moderating. Each wrestler at the panel, including cover-star John Cena, Sting and others, discussed how they got involved in the game as well as shared personal stories about their beginnings in the business, their biggest rivalries and some of the matchups they would love to see happen.
All the stars heralded WWE 2K15's visuals as some of the best they've ever seen, with all the game's superstars looking as real as can be.
"In the video game I am as exactly as good looking as this," Austin joked.
The full WWE 2K15 roster is as follows: Steve Austin, Sheamus, John Cena, Hulk Hogan, Sting, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, Fandango, Damien Sandow, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Triple H, Antonio Cesaro, Shawn Michaels, Gold Dust, Dean Ambros, Dave Batista, Jimmy Uso, Jay Uso, AJ Lee, Big E Langston, Jack Swagger, Tyson Kidd, Darren Young, Rey Mysterio, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Titus O'Neil, The Rock, Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston, Lance Archer, Justin Gabriel, Randy Orton, Naomi, Daniel Bryan, Xavier Woods, The Miz, Tamina Snuka, Rob Van Dam, Erick Rowan, Luke Harper, The Undertaker.
Now you can recreate Brock Lesnar and John Cena's epic SummerSlam 2014 showdown with the best graphics around.
WWE 2K15 will include multiple game modes, like a MyCareer mode where players can create their own wrestler and rise through the ranks. The game also includes the historical 2K Showcase mode, which will consist of 33 matches across the two rivalries in a documentary-style, similar to what was seen in previous WWE games.
Each rivalry will include video footage along with in-game cinematics and scripted commentary that all help to tell the story of the historically accurate matches between some of WWE's biggest rivals. Over the course of the matches, players can complete historical bonus objectives to unlock new WWE superstars, Championship titles and alternate costumes that can be used in other WWE 2K15 game modes. With the additional superstars and costumes, fans can recreate current rivalries, relive their favorite matches or create dream match-ups between any superstars of their choosing.
At launch the game will include two rivalries for players to relive: the historic rivalries between Triple H and Shawn Michaels from 2002 to 2004, as well as the more recent rivalry between cover star John Cena and CM Punk from 2011 to 2013. More rivalries and characters will likely be available as DLC after the game releases.
Players who pre-order the game at any participating retailer will receive Sting for free on launch day, and a limited edition "Hulkmania" version of the game including signed Hulk Hogan memorabilia is also available. WWE 2K15 hits store shelves on Oct. 28 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles.
