CW's 'Dawn Of Justice League Special': Everything You Need To Know

Warner Bros. and DC are preparing to kickstart the DC Extended Universe in a big way this year.

The first film in the universe came out back in 2013 in the form of "Man of Steel." However, this year, Warner Bros. is taking the universe much more seriously, and it proved this with the Dawn of Justice League mini event.

The event was aired on The CW with Geoff Johns and Kevin Smith. Both men did a great job as host, with Smith coming off as the biggest nerd in the house. Now, the interesting thing about this event is it was designed to showcase members of the Justice League that will appear on film.

We're going to talk about some of the cool things we got to see that got us excited for the DC Extended Universe.

New Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice Scenes:

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is a film suffering from both good press and bad press in equal numbers. Things took a turn for the worse after the second trailer revealed too much, according to some. However, this new clip didn't show much, only a sad looking Bruce Wayne walking toward what appears to be a destroyed Wayne Manor.

Another scene shows Batman and Superman charging at each other in an apparent bid to turn each other into smithereens.

We've seen this scene before, but the face of the person walking was not shown.

First Look At The Flash:

This was something we expected to see, though some may have been disappointed since all they showed was concept arts. From what we could tell, the suit seems to be based on armor, unlike the suit from the TV series version of "The Flash."

Also, the origin story is the same as the TV version. Barry Allen was working on something in his lab and later on, he got hit by lightning and became the fastest man alive. Ezra Miller, the actor who will play The Flash in the DC Extended Universe, confirms that the character will have the ability to travel through time and to other dimensions.

First Look At Aquaman:

OK, so this is not exactly a first look since we've seen Jason Momoa in costume, but the DC event did share some essential information. Aquaman in this universe is the son of a lighthouse keeper and the Queen of Atlantis. It was confirmed that he can talk to sea life, so yes, he can talk to fish. Unfortunately, nothing of huge significance was revealed about Aquaman.

New Information On Cyborg:

Since learning that Cyborg would finally make it to the big screen and will also be getting his own movie, we haven't learned much of the character. However, the event revealed that he is indeed Victor Stone, a college football player who suffered severe injuries from an accident.

His injuries were so life-threatening that his father had to use cybernetics to keep him alive. What we have here is a man who is more machine than man, and also, a man who is fighting to keep his humanity intact less the machine aspect of him takes over entirely.

Here We Have Wonder Woman:

She's set to make her first appearance in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" on March 25, 2016, but that's not all. Wonder Woman is also getting her own solo film, and the DC event on The CW gave us a glimpse of what to expect. We saw Gal Gadot in costume, and we have to say, she looks great, but unfortunately, we did not hear what she sounds like as the character.

When it comes down to knowing more about the plot of the film, nothing much was revealed. Though we did learn that the Amazons were the first protectors of the human race, but they abandoned that task because humans were viewed as not worthy of their protection.

The Green Lantern Corps:

As we have long known, Warner Bros. will not be releasing a solo "Green Lantern" film, but instead, a team. This is rather interesting because now we are wondering if the Justice League movie will use the Green Lantern Corps or a single member of the team.

Suicide Squad Trailer:

The highlight of the whole show, just wow! The new "Suicide Squad" trailer or the official trailer No. 1 according to Warner Bros. is something we have seen over and over again. It's a different tone when compared to the Comic-Con version that was leaked then released online.

This trailer is fun and action packed instead of being gloomy and brooding. It seems David Ayer is moving to set this movie apart from the likes of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and the others films scheduled to release in the DC Extended Universe. In our minds, it is similar to "Deadpool" in how different it feels in a world where superhero movies are just the same thing every year, just with different skins.

Overall, the event was great in the information department. The presentation wasn't that good, but hey, it was just a small special on The CW, so it doesn't matter.
