Harley Quinn is one of DC's most popular characters right now. With her comics doing so well and the Suicide Squad set to take theaters by storm in August with the release of the Suicide Squad film, it's no surprise DC would want to highlight the characters in the comics.
That's where a newly-announced April Fool's Day special comes in. The one-shot issue Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad April Fool's Special (which is actually slated to release on April 6) is set to introduce readers old and new to the Joker's right-hand gal and the team of super villains that will soon be on the big screen.
Below is the official description, via Comic Vine:
Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, M.D., welcomes you to Evil Anonymous, the support group for super villains in need; where no problem is too insane or homicidal, and where discretion is assured as only a clown princess of crime can — which is to say, not at all. But when Harley Quinn starts using her patients' own evil schemes against them, it turns out that a much bigger, far more dangerous, and truly life-altering joke is being played on her.
Rob Williams will be penning the issue, with artwork coming from Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Sean Galloway. From the synopsis, it sounds like Harley's status quo may get a significant shake-up if the issue does indeed feature a "truly life-altering joke." What could that possibly mean? We'll have to wait to find out, and hopefully it's not all an elaborate April Fool's Day prank.
