Rumors about Doomsday's likely appearance in "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" are all over the Internet. One guy has finally set the record straight, confirming that the DC villain will not be making an appearance in the movie.
Sean Ray is an employee at the Moving Picture Company, one of the shops offering visual effects services for "Batman vs. Superman." Ray took to Instagram to commemorate the completion of the film, saying that "Batman v Superman is wrapped ... Looking forward to seeing it on the big screen in March!"
As a big Superman fan, Ray is understandably excited about having worked on a major project that involves one of his most favorite characters. Though brimming with excitement, he still took the time to give everyone who worked on the movie a virtual pat on the back, commending them for a job well done.
In the comments section of his post, Ray received a few queries. He explained that he is a 3D creature/character artist for the Moving Picture Company. A user then asked if he created a model for Doomsday. Ray replied by saying:
"Hahaha! Lol Unfortunately he's not in the film," adding that it is possible Doomsday may make an appearance in the Justice League film or the sequel for "Man of Steel."
This confirmation may have provided fans a peace of mind but the film's bosses weren't as happy, prompting Ray to delete the post and deactivate his Instagram account.
This is understandable because anyone
doing post-production work on big movies such as "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" usually sign a contract forbidding them from revealing anything about the project they are working on. Ray might just have put himself in serious trouble by violating terms of non-disclosure.
Given the number of rumors swirling around his movie, Zack Snyder himself is amused at the kind of theories fans are able to come up with, especially when he spots some that are actually very close to what he and the film's crew are doing. He did, however, clarify early on that his son, Eli, will not be appearing in the film as Robin.
"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is due for a U.S. release on Mar. 25, 2016.
