'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Will End All Aquaman Jokes, Says Jason Momoa

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is looking solid from the trailers we've seen, but what about Aquaman? Well, from what Jason Momoa has to say, it seems the character is going to do something badass in the film.

Momoa is the man who will play the King of Atlantis, the man with the power to talk to fish. The character has been the butt of many jokes for decades now, but it appears Warner Bros. is aiming to change that in the DC Extended Universe.

For those who believe Aquaman will be cracking jokes and doing silly things, Momoa says differently in an interview with ScreenRelish.

"I can't see me busting out a bunch of jokes. I mean, I don't think it'll be like that," Momoa shared.

When it comes to whether or not Aquaman will have any conflict with the likes of Batman or Superman, Momoa made sure to keep his mouth shut. Since this would be the first time the characters would be meeting, we're sure there will be a few headbutts here and there.

Owing to the fact that Jason Momoa was cast as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones and the possibility that he got the role because of how he portrayed the character, some fans came to the conclusion that we might get the chance to see a more barbaric version of Aquaman.

Well, Momoa is saying we should not because his take on the character will not be pillaging villages or raping women.

At the end of the day, the quote that got us excited was the one where he hinted at an Aquaman who was potentially going to change what people thought of the character.

"You know, it's cute and funny, I mean people make fun of him and there's a bunch of jokes about him," he said. "But I'm like 'Well... just wait. Let's just wait a little bit. And then we can make jokes.'"

The only real problem we have with this serious take on Aquaman is the fact that we've yet to see a hero in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) who was not in competition with Batman. Superman is serious; Batman is serious. Now Aquaman too? We need someone with a lighter tone to keep the DCEU from feeling depressing.
