Dubbed as one of the most destructive open-world games ever produced, Just Cause 3 is slated to thrill aficionados starting Dec.1, just in time for the holiday season. With just a couple of months remaining prior to the official launch of the video game, fans seem to get to see more and more of the game, the most recent of which is the 400-square-mile map the team's developer diary has shown off.
Avalanche Studios boasted its so-called "highly explosive playground of destruction" of the upcoming title by way of a new dev diary uploaded over YouTube.
"The third entry in the JUST CAUSE 3 Dev Diary series takes a closer look at Rico’s place of birth; the gigantic 400-square-mile Mediterranean island of Medici," reads the description of the video.
Apart from showcasing gameplay footage, the video also highlights just how the fictional island of Medici fuses the best zones in various parts of the world.
"[W]e thought about what places in the world have cliffs that are a hundred meters tall. What places in the world have crystal clear water," games director Roland Lesterlin said in the video. "The south of France and Greece and Spain, Corsica, Malta."
Additionally, it is worth noting that the world is divided into three major zones.
The first region, which the developer describes as a "medley of wealthy and poor towns," features a variety of agricultural areas. The second region offers military bases along with poor fishing areas. In the meantime, the third region is a mountainous wilderness area.
While Medici is spectacular and appears to be peaceful, the island is under the tyrannous leadership of General Di Ravello, a dictator.
"This is the best video of the series so far — quite inspiring," a YouTube user with the handle memaxmovies commented on the video.
"I want to play this so bad, just release it already," noted user Vammostga.
In the meantime, Square Enix will be giving away an island in the game to whoever leads the video game 90 days upon its release. This is seen as part of the game's marketing program.
Just Cause 3 will soon land on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
We earlier reported that Avalanche Studios also gave fans a behind-the-scenes look of the video game.
