Pacific Rim 2 may be officially filed by the Studio under “postponed indefinitely,” but director Guillermo del Toro certainly isn't letting that stop him from pushing forward and sharing plans and ideas about his sequel to the big Jaeger vs. Kaiju hit.
Originally set for an April 2017 release, and then pushed back to August 2017, Universal then officially announced that Pacific Rim 2 was no longer on it's roster of upcoming productions. As Jaeger fans weeped all over the world at the news of perhaps never seeing a sequel come to fruition, del Toro has been keeping the spark alive with his own updates about his plans via social media.
Director del Toro shared with his Twitter followers that after having lunch with British actress, Maisie Williams, he decided that she was such a remarkable young woman that he just has to put her in the pilot seat of a Jaeger if Pacific Rim 2 gets made.
That's right, Arya Stark, may be getting her very own Jaeger!
Had lunch with Maisie Williams yesterday. Remarkable. Dammit- if PR2 happens, that girl is getting a Jaeger.

When Maisie isn't busy filming for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, she is on the set of Doctor Who where she will appear in two episodes of the upcoming series 9. She has also entered the world of YouTube with her first video on the video-sharing site which she said will feature her random moments of madness as well as her tortoise, Barney. Maybe. She's not sure yet. We'll see.
While we all can't wait to see Maisie's Jaeger take to the big screen, del Toro has been posting other random Pacific Rim goodies on his Twitter, like this Kaiju skin parasite:
