Sprint prepay subsidiary Boost Mobile has some promising new plans called "Growing Data," which will reward reliable customers with free data.
Mobile data plans have boomed in popularity in recent years, as an increasing number of consumers rely on their mobile devices to surf the web, stream online content, play games or work online. Carriers are betting big on the mobile data boost and competition is heating up, which leads to increasingly attractive data plan offers.
Boost Mobile now has some new plans of its own, offering more data over time without raising the price. Customers will be able to get up to 3GB of free high-speed data added to their monthly plan with no spike in costs.
The catch, if any, is that customers have to pay their bill on time each month in order to benefit from these Growing Data plans.
A $35 plan from Boost Mobile originally includes 2GB of data, but customers will get 500MB of additional data every three months with on-time payment. If they pay their bills on time for 18 months, customers will be able to enjoy 5GB of high-speed data and their plan will still cost $35.
A $45 plan, meanwhile, starts with 5GB of data, which means that customers will get 8GB of data in total after 18 months of on-time payments.
Simply put, the "catch" is only for customers who frequently make late bill payments, as they'll have to try to pay their plan on time each month.
"Boost Mobile is always rewarding customers for their loyalty, and the best way to say thank you is by offering plans with growing high-speed data. Our new $35 plan, or $30 with Auto Re-Boost, offers the best value now with 2GB of high-speed data and we're offering our customers more value by slashing the prices on some of our latest smartphones to as low as $19.99," touts Boost Mobile Vice President Angela Rittgers.
"Now is the best time to be a Boost customer; you can get a premium smartphone at an affordable price and earn extra high-speed data just by paying on time."
All plans come with unlimited talk and text and boast high-speed data from Sprint's 4G Network, allowing for fast data transfers. Other services available with these plans include three-way calling, Mobile Hotspot, International Calling and Boost TV, at no additional cost. No annual contracts are required.
It's also worth pointing out that customers who don't pay their bill on time one month will not have to start all over again. Boost Mobile will still take into account the on-time payments they did make and will grant the bonus data every three months of on-time payments even if they're not consecutive.
Customers on these new Growing Data plans will receive notifications by text or email whenever they hit a new data bonus. Both new and existing customers can take advantage of these plans.
