During the waning seconds of WWE 2K16's "Oh Hell Yeah" trailer, which was released last week, lightning strikes and Arnold Schwarzenegger appears as a motorcycle-revving Terminator at the top of the ramp.
But as excited as gamers might be to play as Schwarzenegger's T-800s – either from the original 1984 film or from Terminator 2: Judgement Day – Arnold himself is pretty pumped about being included in the upcoming October 27 title.
Speaking with IGN this week, Schwarzenegger said he's honored that people still connect with his iconic characters.
"I think the characters connect with people, and I'm so honored they want to see them again," he said. "People love the humor mixed in with the strength. It humanizes the action hero, which I think is so important."
But when asked about who would make the ultimate-WWE battle for the Terminator, the former California governor and future Celebrity Apprentice host didn't name anyone from the company's current roster — opting for one of his past characters, instead.
"Terminator versus anyone isn't a fair battle, because it isn't easy to fight a machine. But I like the idea of Terminator vs. Conan," he said. "A machine versus a barbarian might be as close to a fair fight as you can get. And it would be fun to see Conan swinging his sword at the Terminator and the metal on metal crashes."
As the conversation continued, Schwarzenegger said he loves The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, but named Bruno Sammartino as his all-time favorite WWE superstar. He also called Brock Lesnar a "monster" – one he would not want to compete against in a weight-lifting competition – and added that Dean Ambrose wouldn't stand a chance against the Terminator.
Those are fighting words.
