A new press image for Samsung's rumored 'premium' Galaxy S5 has been posted online. The image shows the 'Glowing Gold' Galaxy F / S5 Prime front and center.
Apple and Samsung are each expected to introduce two new flagship smartphones in September. Apple is widely expected to announce a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6, while Samsung is rumored to launch the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy F / S5 Prime.
Samsung is planning to outshine Apple and the iPhone 6 with Quad HD displays. The company is expected to use high-resolution 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED displays. The Galaxy F / S5 Prime will reportedly use a 5.2-inch to 5.3-inch display and the Galaxy Note 4 will boast a 5.7-inch screen.
We've seen multiple leaks regarding the Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime over the last few months. Most recently, an image of the smartphone was posted by evleaks, showing the "Glowing Gold" variant at a side angle. The tipster has followed up by posting a new image of the smartphone.
Evleaks has posted a full-frontal shot of the Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime. This is the same "Golden Glow" color option he posted a few days ago. As you can see, the smartphone looks nearly identical to Samsung's current flagship Galaxy S5 and has gold accent colors around the edges of the handset and its home button / embedded fingerprint scanner. The gold trim on the Galaxy F / S5 Prime is very reminiscent of Samsung's new flagship Galaxy Tab S tablets that are also adorned in the same gold accents color.
As a reminder the Galaxy F / S5 Prime is expected to pack in a 5.2 to 5.3-inch 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED QHD display and a more premium feeling brushed metal back. The smartphone is expected to use Qualcomm's latest quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM, which is a nice step up of the Galaxy S5's older Snapdragon 800 chip and 2GB of RAM.
Samsung is also expected to use a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter. Like the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy F / S5 Prime is expected to be both waterproof and dust-resistant.
We should expect to see Samsung officially launch the Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime alongside its next-generation Galaxy Note phablet at IFA in Berlin in September.
