'LEGO Dimensions' Launch Trailer Explains How The Game Works

LEGO Dimensions is just days away, so it's time for Warner Bros. Interactive to crank the hype up to eleven.

YouTube channel FamilyGamerTV somehow got its hands on the launch trailer and posted it before WB could. It makes a strong case for the game, running down its big bullet points. The emphasis is on LEGO Dimensions' versatility and interactivity, especially regarding how every character is playable in every level or world.

Not only that, but any character can use any tool or vehicle to take on any challenge. So if you want to have Gollum drive the DeLorean time machine through the cartoon city of Springfield, you can. Want Wonder Woman to fly the TARDIS along the yellow brick road? Just put the Minifigure and vehicle on the LEGO Dimensions portal and jump into the Wizard of Oz world.

Every vehicle and tool can be rebuilt into three different variations, and each world has several of each. The possibilities are many, and will expand as more Minifigures and add-on levels are released in waves that are scheduled through May of 2016.

The strength of LEGO Dimensions is the LEGO brand and the fourteen franchises represented in the game. They include DC Comics, Lord of the Rings, Jurassic World, The Wizard of Oz, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, The Lego Movie, Portal, The Simpsons, Doctor Who, Scooby-Doo, Midway Arcade, and Lego's own Ninjago and Chima brands.

Whether you've never heard of LEGO Dimensions or you've already pre-ordered it and are counting the days until it arrives, this trailer will make a believer out of you.

LEGO Dimensions drops on September 29, 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U.
