The latest Sony Xperia Z5 smartphone now stars in the new teaser for the next James Bond Movie, Spectre.
The latest "Made for Bond" promo briefly shows the new Xperia Z5 flagship, continuing Sony's tradition of promoting its products in James Bond movies. The new trailer now shows Miss Moneypenny keeping an eye on some bad guys using the Sony RX100 IV camera, then evading them on her way to get Bond's Sony Xperia Z5.
"Packing a powerful punch, the short film follows a tense chase across London's South Bank as Moneypenny fights off mysterious villains to deliver Bond's Xperia Z5 phone," Sony explains in a new press release. "Using state-of-the-art tools, including an advanced compact RX100 IV Cyber-shot camera, she captures surveillance in super-slow motion."
Furthermore, the Sony F65 professional 4K cinema camera shot most of the campaign, complemented by slow-motion footage shown on the display of the RX100 IV and photos shown on the Xperia Z5's display in the promo video.
Naomie Harris, the actress who plays Miss Moneypenny, also highlights the importance of shooting this promotional ad in London to fall in line with Bond's Britishness. Harris further touts that this new ad is not the garden-variety promo, it is an "action-packed mini movie" on its own.
Sony Corporation CEO and President Hazuo Hirai, meanwhile, point out that Sony has a longstanding partnership with Bond films, collaborating ever since Casino Royale. The CEO notes that while the RX100 IV camera and the Xperia Z5 smartphone are powerful enough to be used in a James Bond scenario, they're also everyday gadgets that are easy to use and boast impressive features, including high-end photography skills.
The Sony Xperia Z5 made its official debut on September 2 and will go on sale in October. The smartphone showcased in the new "Made for Bond" promo shows the time and date as 07:00 on "Friday 6 November," which is the date the new Spectre Bond movie launches in the U.S.
