When Batman: Arkham Knight was released in June, many players who downloaded the PC version of the game reported performance issues early on. As a result, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment suspended sales of the game for the PC indefinitely.
Though it was reported that a fix for the game wouldn't arrive until September at the earliest, Warner Bros. announced in the Steam forum in July that an interim patch update for existing PC players would be released the following month, which was followed by the reveal in late August that the patch was in testing. Now, it looks like players finally got to experience a playable Arkham Knight game with that PC patch released Thursday — for a hot second, at least.
Steam users who chose to play the beta version of Arkham Knight reported in the platform's forum that they had access to a new PC patch that seemed to make the game run much more smoothly. Users reported the patch to be 626 MB and allow the game to run "butter smooth" with a "constant 60 fps," only dipping slightly while driving.
Not long after the patch was released, some users reported that the patch crashed the beta version of the game and that it had appeared to be removed.
Though it didn't seem like the patch fixed the issues with the game completely, many users reported that it was a vast improvement. With generally positive reviews, it could be a good sign that a publicly available PC patch may be on its way soon.
