'Batman: Arkham Knight' DLC: Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight' Tumbler And Playable Nightwing Maps Coming In September

The 1989 Movie Batmobile Pack was released as DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight Tuesday, and the game will go to the movies once more for its upcoming September DLC release.

The iconic Tumbler Batmobile from Christopher Nolan's 2008 film The Dark Knight will roll into Batman: Arkham Knight as part of its September DLC, Rocksteady announced Tuesday. With the 2008 Tumbler Batmobile Pack available for download later in September, you can ride in this tank of a vehicle through two themed tracks. Batman: Arkham Knight is the first in Rocksteady's Arkham series to allow players to actually drive in the Batmobile, so clearly the game is taking advantage of that new capability.

In addition to the Tumbler, September will bring a whole host of new DLC to the game. Taking place after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight, a new story pack also coming later in September allows players to take on the role of Nightwing as he attempts to stop the Penguin from busting out of the Gotham City Police Department. Six new AR challenges for Batman, Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman will become available Sept. 1 and allow players to train in Freeflow Combat and Invisible Predator stealth incursion.

On a more aesthetic note, if you miss the original Arkham Asylum Batman costume, you're in luck. That new skin will become available for download later in September as well.

The news of September DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight comes just as the game has released its DLC for August, which includes the aforementioned 1989 Movie Batmobile Pack and allows players to take the Batmobile from Tim Burton's 1989 Batman movie for a spin on two racetracks inspired by the film and its 1992 sequel Batman Returns. You can also take the Batmobile onto the streets of Gotham City after successfully clearing the Arkham Knight's drone tanks. The 1989 Movie Batmobile Pack also comes with a new skin modeled after the Batman costume from the film, in case you have a particular preference for Michael Keaton's Dark Knight.

Batman: Arkham Knight also released a Bat-Family Skin Pack Tuesday, complete with skins based on 1990s Catwoman, One Year Later Robin, Arkham Origins Batman, Iconic Grey & Black Batman, 1970s Batman and the Original Arkham Nightwing.

This DLC is available now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for those who have access to the Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass, or they can be purchased separately for those consoles for $1.99 each.
