Spike Lee directing and narrating the stories of Stephen Curry, James Harden and Anthony Davis for NBA 2K16 has resulted in gritty, flat-out brilliant pieces thus far.
One problem—fans have yet to see in-depth actual game footage of the three cover subjects on the court playing basketball...until now. On Monday (August 24), 2K released its two-minute, 59-second #WINNING trailer, starring Curry, Harden and Davis. Less than 24 hours later, it has already amassed over 333,000 views and counting.
Aptly set to the sounds of DJ Khaled's anthem "All I Do Is Win," the trailer shows each of the three All-Stars in action with Curry flashing his superior ball-handling skills, Harden spotting up for a long-range jumper and Davis posterizing an unfortunate Phoenix Suns center with a huge dunk.
The #WINNING trailer also shows glimpses of NBA stars such as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, DeMarcus Cousins and Andrew Wiggins. Details are sharp and crisp as they've ever been for 2K, with the opening sequence showing both Curry and King James adjusting their respective mouthpieces. The trailer ends with a top prospect sitting on his living room couch, surrounded by family, and about to announce the college he's choosing to attend—undoubtedly for the game's MyCareer mode.
NBA 2K16 is available for pre-order exactly one month from now on September 25, with the title officially hitting stores on September 29. Can't wait.
