Kevin Durant wants kids at his youth basketball camp in Norman, OK. to know that there are no easy buckets in basketball. No...he, really, really wants them to know.
Videos of the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar and 2013-14 NBA MVP blocking kids' shots into oblivion have hit the Internet for yet another summer. At 6-9 with a ridiculous 88-inch wingspan, KD looks like he's swatting flies out on the hardwood instead of basketball shot attempts.
Tech Times found these Vines, showing just how brutally, Durant was blocking these kids' shots.
This last one might be the worst, as Durant literally blocks this kid's shot with both hands. While some people may look at these Vines—which are increasingly getting more loops by the second—and wonder if this is really necessary, Durant is teaching these youngsters a couple of valuable lessons here.
One is nothing comes easy in basketball and you're only as good as how hard you work at it, like anything else. The second lesson is simply that life isn't fair all the time, something that kids need to learn if they haven't already.
Kids in this camp will never forget being blocked into another stratosphere by the six-time NBA All-Star. Even if they wanted to, these Vines, and social media avenues alike, won't let them. But the ones really serious about basketball will only use it as fuel to keep improving.
Durant is coming off a 2014-15 season, in which he only played 27 games due to injuries.
