This 'Sims 4' Mod Will Let You Hit The Beach All Summer Long

July may almost be over, but you've still got plenty of summer left to have some fun in the sun. Well, to let your Sims enjoy the great outdoors, anyway. And what better place to have them spend the warmest months of the year than at the beach?

Though there's plenty of nature and water in The Sims 4, if you want your Sims to lay out and catch some rays or take a dip, they can really only do so by the pool. But a new mod will finally let your Sims hit the beach in a big way.

Sims 4 player SimplyNando has created a new beach mod that he says will replace the texture of any world in the game with sand. That means the lush, grassy fields of Willow Creek, Granite Falls and Newcrest – and even the dusty sand of the desert-like Oasis Springs – could all be turned into places fit for any beach bum Sims to inhabit.

Of course, any beach town worth its weight in salt water taffy needs to have easy, breezy digs to match. There are plenty of construction and design tools at your disposal to build your own beach house in The Sims 4. But if you're feeling fancy, you can also find some beach house mods around the Internet.

If you have the Perfect Patio Stuff Pack, which was released in June, then you're already set with furniture and other objects to celebrate those summer nights away on the beach. SimplyNando has even found another purpose for the yoga mats from the new Spa Day game pack as beach towels on which your Sims can do the corpse pose and look like they're tanning when they're really building up their focus, strength and zen.

This mod seems reminiscent of the beaches in past Sims expansion packs and games, such as The Sims: Vacation and the standalone The Sims 2: Castaway. We can only hope that this will inspire EA to release some sort of exotic destination-themed expansion for The Sims 4 in the future.

Check out the mod in all its sandy glory in the video below.
