Ever feel like your Sim city is just too overcrowded? It's time to virtually move to a whole new world – without a magic carpet – one that is just as exciting because, well, it's free.
In Thursday's update for The Sims 4, EA added a new, free world called Newcrest, in an attempt to provide more space for Sim players who have overcrowded the original worlds of Willow Creek and Oasis Springs.
Now your Sims can move from the suburbs to the slightly more metropolitan Newcrest.
Players can start building right away in a world that will include three new neighborhoods with five empty lots each. Houses can be custom built or downloaded from the Gallery. Since Newcrest is a blank slate, you can built anything you wish — such as houses, bars, clubs, pool or parks.
Other updates include a new Custom Room Tool that lets you draw your own room shapes, so you can continue making Newcrest unique. The tool is located in the "Walls" and "Empty Room" sort in Build Mode.
If you're worried you might not make any new friends in the new world, then you will be pleased to know that the update also includes the return of the Welcome Wagon. This means when your Sims move into a new lot, neighbors will politely come on over to say "hi" with some fruitcake — well, that is, if you have neighbors.
Make sure that you plan ahead for a housewarming party because next week, the game will get a "Perfect Patio Stuff Pack" that includes new decorations for your outdoor space — such as a hot tub, new grill and patio bar, as well as some new backyard furniture.
While a hot tub sounds like the best backyard addition, Sims will also get to enjoy their summer wearing new swimsuits, hairstyles, and outfits.
The hot tub can hold up to eight Sims including children — just make sure they aren't around for a woohoo.
