After rumors earlier in the month that Sony will be unveiling the Xperia Z5 in September, there are once again rumors surrounding the company's planned devices for the year.
The latest rumor involves two new high-end smartphones, which are said to be set for unveiling at around the same time as the Xperia Z5.
The rumor was spotted from a news report on WinFuture, a German website. The report claimed that the two new Android-powered smartphones will be named the Xperia S60 and the Xperia S70.
In addition, the report claimed that the two devices will also be unveiled before the IFA conference, which will be held in Berlin from Sept. 4 to Sept. 9.
Some dealers in Europe even said that the Xperia S60 and the Xperia S70 could already be available to consumers by as early as the middle of August, at a date of around August 18.
With regards to the specifications and features of the two smartphones, there is not much known. Both the Xperia S60 and the Xperia S70 will pack an internal memory space of 32GB. For the Xperia S60, available color choices are black, white, yellow and coralie, while for the Xperia S70, available color choices are black, white, green and gold.
The prices of the two high-end devices are expected to be higher compared to that of Sony's previous Xperia smartphones such as the Xperia Z3+ or Xperia Z4. The price range of the Xperia S70 is being said to be at $850 to $920.
There has been no official confirmation from Sony regarding this information, however, which means that there could be discrepancies on the time frame and specifications of the Xperia S60 and Xperia S70, if there are even such devices actually planned by Sony.
The Xperia Z5, the smartphone that was the previous subject of rumors, will come in three models: the Xperia Z5, the Xperia Z5 Ultra and the Xperia Z5 Compact. The Xperia Z5 is believed to pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB of RAM and a massive 4,500 mAh battery.
The Xperia Z5 is said to be ready to be released soon, with the device reportedly to be launched before the end of the year just in time for the shopping frenzy of the holiday season.
