It's been a week since the Sony Xperia Z3+ rolled out globally and since then, fans in the U.S. have been waiting for the device to also land in American stores. Now it looks like the wait is finally over as the device is reportedly available for purchase through Amazon.
While most sellers have priced the Xperia Z3+ at around $645, some sellers offer the device at prices up to $670. Moreover, customers who are contemplating on purchasing the device should bear in mind that it is a GSM version, which means it will only work with certain carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile.
As the name implies, the Xperia Z3+ is an upgraded version of the Z3 that was launched the previous year. Its design may be identical to its predecessor's but the Z3+ is no doubt slimmer and lighter. It still carries the same water-resistant feature makes Sony's devices one of the well-loved devices in the market today.
Apart from being slimmer and lighter, the Xperia Z3+ is powered by the latest Snapdragon 810 processor of Qualcomm and carries an internal storage of 32GB.
Some of its other notable features include a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a RAM of 3 GB, a microSD card slot, a 2930 mAh battery, 20.7-megapixel Exmor camera at the rear, 5-megapixel Exmor camera in front, an exposed micro-USB port and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop preinstalled.
It should be noted that the Xperia Z3+ is also known as the Xperia Z4 in Japan. Some users reported about overheating issues with the Z3+ in a number of situations. Sony responded by assuring users that the company will release a software update to deal with the problem.
The device will be available in black, white and aqua green, all at a starting price of around $645. A copper model is also available but will cost higher at around $660. Likewise, opting for the device's dual-SIM variant will include an additional charge of $10 to $20.
Sony will soon release the Xperia Z4v which, compared to the Z3+, will feature a better 5.2-inch Quad HD display of 1,440 by 2,560 pixels and a 3,000 mAh battery which is obviously a little bigger than the Z3+'s. The upcoming Z4v will be available through Verizon Wireless.
