Wesley Snipes is out of prison and looking for something that could get his career back on track. From what we are hearing, it seems a new Blade film could do that for the actor.
Apparently, Snipes had a meeting with Marvel about many things including Blade. Nothing much was set in terms of when fans might get another Blade film or whether or not the character will show up on Netflix.
What is certain is that talks have happened, so anything is possible at this point, especially since the studio has met with Snipes.
"The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things," Snipes told Deadline. "I don't know where it's on their schedule at this point, that hasn't been decided. I guess it's still up in the air."
We'd love to see Snipes return as Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although we doubt it would happen on the big screen. The Blade comics are not for children and, as we have seen with some of Marvel's darker characters, they end up on a Netflix series called Daredevil.
Others have gotten their own series as well, which is currently being filmed.
Unless Marvel changes the way it does things, we want to kindly ask fans to never look out for a Blade 4 or a reboot for that matter. It would be a total waste should Marvel create a Blade movie that is no rated R. We're not saying it couldn't be a fun film, but the bloodlust and profanity are some of the many things that separate Blade from other comics.
The first Blade movie was an enormous success, and it managed to transform into a trilogy. While the first was spectacular, the second one was average and the third was just downright terrible.
Wesley Snipes did his job as Blade very well. We just have to blame the writers and director.
