'The Witcher 3' Free DLC Gives Ciri An Alternate Look

After addressing some of the game's performance issues in a patch, which still hasn't been released, CD Projekt is back to its free DLC of the week scheme for The Witcher 3. This time around, Ciri gets a new outfit, which still hasn't been released.

The latest packet of downloadable content is due to arrive soon, tweeted .the "Evil" Chris Priestly, North American community manager for CD Projekt Red and The Witcher 3.

CD Projekt Red released a 2.2 GB patch for The Witcher 3 last week, but it wasn't the update many fans sought. Instead, the patch merely updated language options in the game's art book and the studio tossed in a few more wallpapers. The bug-bashing patch 1.07 still doesn't have a release date, but CD Projekt Red still says it's coming soon.

Here's a brief rundown of the improvements patch 1.07 is expected to deliver:

–Geralt gets a new, optional movement response mode.
–Stash locations, marked on the map, where the player can store goods.
–Alchemy and crafting gear no longer add to inventory weight.
–Books will receive their own tabs in the inventory.
–The inventory will have several sorting options.
–Players can pin formulas and diagrams, which mark the necessary crafting and alchemy components in the store.
–Major and minor quest fixes.
–A handful of performance enhancements to effects, scenes, gameplay and more.
–Multiple improvements to horse behavior.

After all of this bug bashing and aesthetic DLC runs its course, fans can expect a massive expansion pack that adds about as much content to the game as there was in The Witcher 2.

"The expansion packs will be whole new storylines with all the elements you've got in the main story (like cutscenes, new characters, new items, new Gwent cards) and many, many more—they will be quite long," said Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, game director for The Witcher 3.

The game's first major add-on will require about 10 hours to complete and the second expansion should require about twice that time, said Tomaszkiewicz.

"And even now, if you sum up this 10 to 20 hours and you compare it to The Witcher 2, it's almost the size of The Witcher 2. And it will be cool, it will be new stories, it will be very emotional stories and I think that people will be happy."
