For those who are anticipating massive changes to the iPhone 17 Pro's design, there may be bad news for you come. An analyst has now claimed that there is no redesign coming for the device.
However, there are still reported changes coming to the regular iPhones in the future, specifically in 2027.
iPhone 17 Pro Is Not Getting a Massive Redesign
Mark Gurman's latest Power On newsletter via Bloomberg explains what is coming for this year's iPhone lineup release, and the bad news is that the iPhone 17 Pro is not getting a massive redesign.
According to the analyst, it is expected that while the iPhone 17 Pro models would still bear some changes, it is not the redesign that many await.
The front design of the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro is set to take the form of its predecessor, the iPhone 16 Pro, but the new release's back camera will feature the latest changes.
However, Gurman noted that the previous rumors about the iPhone 17 Pro getting a two-toned rear design is not happening.
That being said, there are still reported changes in the future of the iPhone lineup, particularly two years from now when Apple will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its smartphone by 2027.
Apple's iPhone Development for 2025
Apple may not be preparing for a massive revamp or redesign for its regular iPhone releases, and this is because the company is allegedly focused on the development of the iPhone 17 Air, which is replacing the Plus versions and is expected to deliver the thinnest iPhone yet.
Despite what Gurman mentioned in his latest newsletter, there are still different aspects of the iPhone 17's regular releases that are expected to receive changes, according to various sources. Apple is expected to debut a significant upgrade to the iPhone 17 Pro's Telephoto lens, but it would have to sacrifice the 5x optical zoom.
Apple is not one to let anniversaries pass by without special celebrations for its devices, as back in 2017 when the iPhone lineup turned 10, the company released a major rework on the smartphone which debuted the iPhone X.
In 2027, Apple's iPhone is turning 20, and while it remains unknown if it will be called the "iPhone XX," Gurman claims that massive changes are expected.
