The Attack on Titan movie is preparing for launch in Japan, but many fans have been wondering if it will ever launch outside of Asia. Well, we've got your answer right here ladies and gentlemen.
We understand that FUNimation Entertainment has acquired the rights for the movie. The company will have all rights to deliver the film to theaters, video on demand, and via Blu-Ray in North America. Right now for Attack on Titan to find its way in North American theaters, it may have to earn a considerable amount in Asia.
If not, then fans should be content with video on demand and or Blu-Ray releases.
When it comes down to when the film will see a North American release, it is something we cannot comment on at the moment. However, if we were to guess, we'd say in 2016 or even 2017 because English voice overs take time.
We do know that the movie will launch in several sections of Japan on Aug. 1 and Sept. 15, 2015. As for whether or not it will turn out to be a good movie, well, let's just say we do not have much faith in the movie due to what we have seen in the trailers.
The animation and the CGI looked bad, the going through the air via the 3D maneuver gears looked terrible, and it is clear that the over emotional and over dramatic acting will make its way to the big screen.
Being overdramatic and overemotional in an Anime is fine, but it just doesn't work in live action. This might very well be destructive moment of Attack on Titan, we'll just have to wait and see.
At the end of the day though, we still want to see what Attack on Titan movie brings to the table. It is difficult to pull off, and probably need a huge budget to fully realize the film. However, the movie could be enjoyable for hardcore fans, or just a film good enough to pass the time.
