If you've watched any sort of anime (or been on the Internet) in the past two years, chances are that you've heard of Attack on Titan. The post-apocalyptic series exploded onto the scene back in 2013, and quickly became one of the most popular anime on the market - both in Japan and North America.
Of course, as with all successful media properties, Attack on Titan is coming to the big screen. The movie's been in production for some time now, but fans have only just recently been able to see actual footage from the movie - even then, fans haven't seen all that much. To make matters worse, most of the trailers have focused on the human characters - that's not to say that the casting is bad, or that characters are boring, but fans want to see the Titans in action!
Thankfully, the latest TV spot out of Japan helps fix that issue: while it's far from a long, detailed look at the movie's monsters, there's plenty of new footage of the series' gigantic, skinless Titans in the latest live-action teaser:
It's a 30-second teaser, so again - these aren't in-depth previews of the titular Titans. Plus, if you aren't familiar with the show, the trailer is likely just 30 seconds of gibberish - that being said, if you are a fan, you probably noticed that a few of the more notable Titans have cameos littered throughout the TV spot.
Obviously, the Colossal Titan makes an appearance - it is plastered across most of the movie's (and the anime's) marketing, so it's no surprise that it's in the trailer, too. The 'Smiling' Titan also makes a brief appearance, as does Eren's Titan Form - though the latter is definitely a 'blink and you miss it' affair.
All things considered, it looks like the movie is shaping up to be something big (pun 100% intended) - if you happen to live in Japan, you can catch Attack on Titan in theaters on Aug. 1.
