Best Buy Offers Up To $175 For Xbox One With Trade-In Deal

With all eyes on E3 this week, your brain is probably focused on all gaming all the time these days. That includes a burning desire to get your hands on everything being unveiled at the annual gaming industry trade show.

Unfortunately, much of what's being announced this week isn't available just yet. Rather, it will be rolling out within the next few months. In the meantime, there are ways to breathe some new life into your gaming collection right now.

Best Buy is running a promotion this week to help you score a new Xbox One console. If you trade in any working Xbox 360 or Sony PlayStation 3 at a participating Best Buy location, you will receive a $75 coupon for an Xbox One console. More specifically, if you bring in a working Xbox 360 250 GB or a Sony PS3 Slim, you will get a minimum $100 gift card. "Working" means that you have the AC adapter/power cord, the console can power on, it isn't damaged and the warranty seal is intact, just so you know.

In case you haven't been paying attention, that's potentially $175 to go toward a brand-spanking-new Xbox One console. Best Buy offers a variety of different models, which range in price from $349.99 to $499.99.

If you've been holding out on buying an Xbox One since it was released in November 2013 because you wouldn't be able to play your beloved Xbox 360 games, you might want to consider upgrading now. That's not only because of this deal but also because Microsoft announced during its E3 press event Monday that Xbox One will be getting backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games. Prior to this update, you could only play games specifically made for Xbox One on Xbox One. You might also want to actually be able to use the forthcoming Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, a $150 uber-customizable accessory that Microsoft also unveiled at E3 this year.

This promotion runs from now until June 20.
