Microsoft unveiled the new Xbox Elite Wireless Controller designed for Xbox One and Windows 10 during its press event at E3 Monday.
The new controller is incredibly customizable, more so than we've seen from game controllers in the past, with swappable components that let you create your own unique configuration of controls. That means you can choose from a whole bunch of different thumbsticks and D-pads to use what suits your gameplay best. The back of the controller also has four slots where you can put in none or all of the removable paddles that allow for better and faster control.
Other features include button and paddle remapping, Hair Trigger Locks to fire more rapidly and a textured rolling pad in addition to the traditional D-Pad that's supposed to make it easier to carry out combos.
Not only can you customize the controller with its physical parts, but you can also tweak how it works with a new app. You can adjust features like the trigger values, thumbstick sensitivities and button assignments to your exact liking. What is particularly intriguing is that you can create various controller profiles so that you can tailor the settings to each specific game that you play. You can save two profiles on the controller at a time, and the rest get saved in the cloud.
The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller will retail for $149.99 when it hit stores in October 2015.
