What a class act.
We know and love Ernie Johnson for humorously restoring order and keeping Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal and Kenny Smith in line on TNT's Inside the NBA. And that's not easy to do!
But now we have an entirely different reason to love EJ. After winning a Sports Emmy Award for best studio host on Tuesday night, Johnson handed the golden trophy to the daughters of late ESPN anchor Stuart Scott.
"This belongs to Stuart Scott," Johnson said to Taelor and Sydni Scott, giving them his award. "This is your Emmy."
Before doing so, Johnson revealed that he would text message Scott back and forth before the beloved ESPN anchor lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 4 at the age of 49. The moment especially hit home for Johnson, who overcame non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2006.
After the beautifully moving gesture, sports media members and fans alike saluted Johnson for his touching act via Twitter.
