Kevin Durant movingly thanked his mom during his NBA MVP acceptance speech last year, even dubbing her as the "real MVP."
On Monday, Stephen Curry thanked plenty of people during his own MVP speech, but got especially choked up when talking about his dad, ex-NBA shooting guard Dell Curry, who played in the league from 1986 to 2002. Where did you think Stephen learned to become a sharpshooter like that?
"To be able to follow in your footsteps, it means a lot to me," Curry said, tearing up during his press conference acceptance speech. "This is special. I'm really proud of what you were able to do in your career and I don't take that for granted at all."
Dell Curry, who was in attendance, became choked up with emotion, while his son continued to show him love and thank him.
"Just who you are — you made it OK to have a family at my age when I started to know that if you take care of your business, you'll be alright."

The MVP honors are well-deserved for Curry, who led the Golden State Warriors to a franchise-record and NBA-best 67-win season this year. The All-Star point guard averaged 23.8 points, 7.7 assists, 4.3 boards and two steals per game this season.
While thanking his dad was the most poignant moment of his speech, Curry also had kind words for his fellow Splash Brother and All-Star guard teammate Klay Thompson.
"Hopefully we have a long future together," he told Thompson. "We can do some special things. Hopefully be the best backcourt to ever play."
It's possible.
Golden State currently leads the Memphis Grizzlies, 1-0, with Game 2 of their playoff semifinal series Tuesday night in Oakland.
